Revolving Staircase

1.
Limbo 05:55
Stranded deep in limbo A satellite to naught No one hears you screaming You're lost inside your thoughts A stain upon the fabric Of the cold and vast unknown You strike your final matchstick In the hope someone will show A torment constellation A signal from the abyss That bears a crown of fire A lantern in the mist You see it form before you Silhouetted in the dark An old revolving staircase To the summit in the stars Stranded deep in limbo A satellite to naught Walking up the staircase Walking to the door
2.
The Wheel 11:14
A sky afar On a silent tune A sky too far A ghost of a star To its haunt in the dark The wheel is turning round Its tracks etched in the ground A trail of tears Nobody goes near Like the morn that showed no light Like the frost that bites you at night A crystal moon In it's palest blue A sky too soon That's clothed up in grey They'll drive me away On wheels of wood and steel To paintings of dreams unreal In frozen frames Imprison my brain Like the morn when sun was shy Like the grave I'll see when I die Drawing circles in the sand Birds of prey survey the land Take the wheel There's damage to be done Nothing here is real There's no earth to be won Make believe That everyone is gone To the big surreal The silverest of suns Hear them Footsteps in the dark See them Standing tall and stark Hear them Silent as the tomb See them Servants to the moon Pale blue Emptiness surrounds Sticks to you like glue No one makes a sound Break through Sitting on a cloud Everything you knew Is buried underground Hear them Footsteps in the rain See them Surveying their domain Hear them Loading up their guns See them Servants to the sun
3.
Stuck in outer space No one sees your face This is now your place To throw yourself to waste Never be afraid To throw yourself away To blacken out the day The Heavens called your name Like thunder through the rain As lightning struck your brain Calling to the night Calling to the light This was not your fight You say it can't be right Never fly too high For every star must die As darkness chokes the fire With dreams they left destroyed And strung up round the void Where nothing more remains Those signals in the sand Trace them with your hands And break these iron chains
4.
Evening Star 03:03
There were times I watched the stars Hoping they would blow away All this pain around my heart Then you came and brought the day I saw you through the darkness Some cold and empty night You showed me where my heart is You showed me to the light Take me to the stars with you To a place where diamonds rain All across a sea of blue Far away from all this pain There's no one there to find us There's only you and me So leave this world behind us Someday we will be free Let me be your evening star Keep your nightmares far at bay And be your light within the dark Till the morning comes our way I really want to see you Don't leave me in the dark I never want to leave you Please let me in your heart
5.
We the scars of days of old We the stories left untold We the keepers of the cold Of the staircase that revolves Round the silverest of suns Round the iciest of moons What you will and will become What you will and will not do
6.
7.
Red 04:42
8.
We the talkers to the dead We the ghosts beneath your bed We the voices in your head This the old gatekeeper said Those who enter must take heed Of the realm where naught remains Of the ones who walk unseen Drawn like moths unto a flame
9.
Sun's burning purple On a sky full of grey Running in circles Cause you can't run away Look at the churchyard Painted over in red Here come the lifeguards Here to keep you in bed You watch the diamonds rain Falling round your brain You no longer feel the pain You no longer feel insane Staircase revolving Round the silverest sun The world's started ending The end has begun

about

In contrast to its predecessor (Adam's Apple And Window's Pain), this album takes a more orchestrated, prog rock approach. The first half of the album includes the heavy intro track "Limbo", the 11 minute progressive track "The Wheel", and the two singles, "Signals In The Sand" and "Evening Star". The second half includes the 5 track "Revolving Staircase" suite, with the title track opening it and reprising, before closing with "In Search Of Lost Planets (Part One)". (Stay tuned for its "Part Two", set to appear on a later album.)

I have included four bonus tracks: "Cosmic Express" (the B-side to "Signals In The Sand), an acoustic mix of "Evening Star", "Twin Suns" and "Enter The Court Jester", two songs that were left off the album.
